learn to knit 2 socks on 2 circular needles

I’m currently saving up for the needles I want to get. Then, this goal is mine.

Now that I can knit socks, it seems logical that this should be my next sock related goal. I haven’t gotten the dreaded second sock syndrome yet but still, this seems like a good skill to have under my belt should the affliction ever arise.

I’m practicing on double point needles before I try the two circular method. It’s a good thing too. I’ve had to restart no less than ten times over the past three days. I’ve messed the ribbing up, the gusset, and even the cast on. I guess I’m pretty nervous about making these things but I’m determined to get the practice.

I checked this book out of the library previously and, of all the ones on the subject, I found it to be the most informative. While I’m winding down the hours on another goal, I can work on this and, hopefully, have a pair of socks done by the New Year.

I ordered some Sock Ease yarn from Lion Brand. The color I got was Lemon Drop. Before I mess with a ten dollar skein though, I’m going to make at least one sock with my regular practice yarn to ensure I have the technical details down.

Thanks to StitchDiva’s clear videos on Youtube regarding small diameter knitting with two circular needles, I’m feeling more confident about my chances with this.

While searching for video on just knitting one sock, I came across an instructional site detailing how to knit two at the same time. I need to pick up the skills to make one before I foray into this. I do seem to have a vague idea of it in my head though.
