get CPR certified

Sadly, the class was postponed until further notice. I’m looking forward to getting it done.

I will be trained in CPR and First Aid via one of the organizations I volunteer for and all for free.

I will finally have this off of my list.

Just responded to a request regarding volunteer training. As luck would have it, it includes a CPR course. fingers crossed

I have to get emergency response training not only for adults but for children as well. At first, even with all my gusto for doing so, I was hesitant but no more.

Some damned loony on the bus kept giving her five month old daughter gum [That’s right, GUM] to chew while we were on there. She thought the whole thing was funny when the little girl, who barely had teeth was chewing on the gum she’d taken from her own mouth.

Finally, after some nervous trepidation, the somewhat more sane friend she was with took the gum out of the child’s mouth. She’d sensed the eyes of everyone who saw what had happened boring into the three of them like augurs.

So I’m lining up my schedule. CPR and the lot. Might even learn to swim. I’m too afraid for kids with fatally stupid parents. Some of whom I’ve seen going to and from the pool without so much as a by your leave from their parents at ages four, five, and six.

I volunteer with two organizations that cover the cost of getting certified either partially or fully. If I don’t take advantage of that, then I really am a fool.
