learn to swim

I’m currently in the process of saving up for a bathing suit.

Who knew that they could be so expensive?!

The one I want is relatively cheap at $109.00USD but I’m not complaining considering the prices of some of the others. Still, I’m hoping it will go down a bit on the price.

Aside from that, I’m looking up different classes that teach adults to swim. I found one via JVC that might be free if offered again this year but it’s in the middle of nowhere and at the edge of beyond the rainbow. So, unless I can arrange a ride, there’s no possibility of my going there.

Barring a sudden lottery win, me thinks a second saving up might be in order. I’ve got to save for the cost of the classes as well.

I am so nervous. I’ve only been in a pool a few times and even then, it was at the shallow end more than a decade ago. I’m worried I might be asked to jump into twelve foot water during my first lesson or something equally ridiculous. It sounds silly, I know, but it’s my nightmare.

I wish I knew someone with a pool so that this would be less awkward.

Talk about a kick in the pants on this issue. I was going to put learning to swim off until 2012 but this article renewed my fears about the consequences of not knowing how to swim.

Now, it’s going to be a double goal. Learn to ride my bike and learn to swim for 2011 but unofficially starting now.

The Mind is a scary thing.

When I was much younger, I saw a video by a group/musical entity known as Shed Seven. A good deal of it occurred in a bath house to the point where the guy was actually singing from an empty pool.

While thinking about swimming, the song stuck in my head and now…I can’t get it out. I got to get on this goal. It might help if I got into learning how to swim.
