read all the books I haven't read that are sitting on my bookshelf

This goal kind of got eclipsed by my other reading goals. Well technically I have accomplished this goal, but only because I am in the process of moving and there are no more books on my bookshelf. I won’t mark it as done though because that kind of a claim would not rest well with my conscience. We’ll see how this goes after I finish moving.

Bad news: in the four months since I sort of abandoned this goal, I have only added to the huge mass of unread books on my shelves.

Good news: school is out for summer and I have an excess of leisure time to be spent reading.

We shall see if the good news can overcome the bad.

i have decided that it counts if i buy books that I’ve already read so that means I have finished:

breakfast of champions by kurt vonnegut

the wonderful story of henry sugar and six more by roald dahl

and this one is for real:

slapstick by kurt vonnegut

so i fail again because i went to the library instead of starting another book that i already own but on the bright side:

finished ‘diary’ by chuck palahniuk

it was creeptastic but thoroughly engaging. i finished it in one sitting.

crime and punishment by fyodor dostoevsky

i thought this book was totally going to kick my ass but it was actually a much easier read than i thought it was going to be.

so my aunt bought me a gift card at barnes and noble for christmas and well…

i caved. i bought four more books and now i have even more to read.

sigh. i will never accomplish this goal.
