One thing I have to say, the service is impeccable. My sister was afraid that we might not be treated as well as other patrons because the three of us that went don’t fit the standard bill of rich, old white people. The staff however were more than welcoming and made us feel oh so comfortable.
Ok, now on to the food. Oh my god. The salmon tartar amuse was heavenly and the Oysters and Pearls are genius. The high point was a scallop with truffles and the foie course. Ugggh they had to roll me out of there. For a good hour or so after I could feel the all the fat I consumed still lingering in my pores…and it felt so good. I would give anything to have another chocolate and caramel covered macadamia nut. I have to say though that there were a few dishes that left me slightly less than amazed. The desserts, though delicious, weren’t tremendously creative and a course or two were simply good, not fantastic.
Regardless, it was a wonderful experience (and at that price tag a once or twice in a lifetime experience) and I’m still giddy as a schoolgirl about having gone.
