This is starting to get annoying. I started over. I stuck to the plan. I made it through week 4. I was feeling pretty good about myself.

Then life happened.

I work at a University. I use the university pool to swim. Hey, it’s free! Well, I got word that my job was in jeopardy due to lack of funding. My awesome supervisor helped me land another job at the same university in a different department. Unfortunately, I now need to start work half an hour earlier in the day. This doesn’t give me time to go to the pool (because it doesn’t open till 7:30), change, warm up, swim, cool down, shower, wash hair, change, get to work in time. So I need to come up with a new plan somehow.

The local high school pool is open earlier, but I’d have to pay for that one and it’s just not as convenient.



time to move on 7 months ago

I’ve been doing week 3 for awhile now. Mostly because I took some time off because my shoulder was getting sore and I wanted to rest up before my 5K. Well, the 5K is done. I think it’s time to move on to week 4. I feel like I’m really slow, but I also feel like my pace is steady. I’ve got a good cadence/rhythm going.

I’m really not sticking to the plan very strictly, as I only tend to get to the pool twice a week. But I follow the workouts, and when I feel comfortable (after about 3 or 4 swims) I move up to the next week.

Just started week 3 today. My shoulder is really sore!
