My next book will be In the Shadow of the Liberator about Hugo Chavez. Hope to finish it by April.
I’ve three books in three months:
Read Blink in January.
Read The Alchemist in February.
And just finished Skinny Bitch this month.
I oughtta change this to “Start reading 1 book a month, and end up finishing 1 book a year”. Seriously, there is no way I am finishing 1 book a month… how sad is that? I’ve just got no time…
How about finishing the ones that I have started this year:
-Profit over People
-Woman on the Edge of Time
-Pedagogy of the Oppressed
-Minority Report and other Phillip K Dick short stories
-A People’s history of the US
Man, I really tried sticking to one book! But there was this little book of short stories on my bookshelve that kept calling my name – so I just had to pick it up. So now I’ve been reading Horacio Quiroga’s “Cuentos de amor, de locura, y de muerte”.
The good news is that I’ve been reading it regularly and the stories are real good. Quiroga wrote some crazy, twisted stories – as the titled states – about love, insanity and death. The stories take place in scenic towns in Latin America, with fantastic characters and great endings. So, it also serves as inspiration for my own short stories…
Ok – this is the easiest one for me because I have sooo many books. I have about four books opened and waiting for me, as I type. I don’t even know which one to begin with (that other thing I need to work on – decision making). Ok, let’s start with “Massacre at el Mozote”, by Mark Danner, about a terrible massacre that occured in El Salvador during the civial war in the 1980’s. Hmmm.. I think I’ll give myself a couple of weeks, till the end of the month.
