Feline Alarm Clock

I got a cat. I can’t sleep past the alarm any more even if I wanted to.

Some days I set a low cell phone alarm to wake me from a nap, and either I hear it or I don’t, but the loud blaring alarm going off for an hour is no longer part of my life. I save the loud alarm to go off once in a while, like if I really need to wake up early and wash my hair, or catch a flight.

New Job, new place

I put the alarm on a high shelf in my adjoining bathroom. I have to get out of bed and walk. And I have to turn it off, because I don’t want my new roommates to hate me, because if they hate me, they won’t want to renew our lease, and I won’t be able to afford to LIVE ANYWHERE ANYMORE.

Plus I have my cell alarm set to go off a couple of minutes before the main alarm clock, which has been helping me not sleep through the sound.

Tangentially: a wise friend has been meditating on something that might help

1. Get back in touch with inner child wanting to embrace the day
2. Have something exciting to do to excite me out of bed
3. Enjoy whatever I have to do even if I don’t want to do it

“So, my intention is to reconnect with the child in me to see each day as worthy of embracing!”

Back burner

So I’m sure this is on the back burner for now, since I’ve quit my job, but if I ever want to live with someone again, I should probably continue to work on this.

Better?

The alarm is more often actually rousing me from sleep. I am aware of choosing to hit the snooze button.

Two days last week, I was up with the alarm, or even before its first terrible beeping began. Coincidentally those were the two nights I fell asleep early enough to get a full 10 hours.

Glug glug

Haha it’s getting worse, I accidentally poured water in my alarm clock one morning this week.

This is what happens when you sleep on the wrong side

I accidentally karate-chopped my partner trying unsuccessfully to hit the snooze (wrong arm). I can’t be held accountable for what I do in my sleep!

snooze addiction

I hit the snooze for 90 minutes today! This has got to stop. >:-(
