At last update I was at just over 600k total views to my stories on FanFiction.net
On Christmas Day, 2012, I reached 1,000,000! Yes, one MILLION views to my stories. Holy balls. I honestly never expected that kind of traffic, and seeing it now (and realizing that eight months got me another 400k views alone) is really inspiring. I know FanFiction is not writing in the most traditional sense, I suppose, but it’s something that I and thousands of others partake in and feel good about. It’s a way to work on developing plot without having too stress ourselves out over simultaneous character development. I save that kind of stress for NaNoWriMo, in November…
I completed two of my most popular stories to date, and crossed 540 something reviews to one of them. I know that’s still not a ton (my eventual goal is 1k+ reviews on my stories, but we’ll work on that) but it’s a definite start. Weeee!

Numbers are increasing – though not in the way they should be. I have to admit, I’ve left my writing behind WAY too much over the past months, and the months before that… I was just too distracted or too busy. Now that boyfriend works the nights, (he’s gone 2PM and back by 2:30 AM) I’ll have plenty of time… which is good.

1) I moved away from fictionpress and have started expressly writing fanfiction for fun. It’s my time waster, and it’s doing well.
2) My fiction works are being expanded via NaNoWriMo, which writers everywhere should already know is the best thing in the whole world and my life.

As you can see, it’s kind of WAY bigger than it used to be… and the funny thing is, I think I update less than I used to. However, my style has improved, my stories are better and more well formed… so things are definitely getting better.
In other news, NaNoWriMo is just around the corner, and I’ve been slowly outlining my novel for the month entitled Miss Priss – a story about a City girl who leaves town to live with her absentee father and escape the perfect, prep-school life her mother has built for her. Little does Skye know, being a teenager is the same wherever you go, and the same types of people are everywhere. One hot summer, a few snobby, prissy debutantes, a ridiculously cute southern boy, and three months of self-discovery later, Skye realizes who’s been being Prissy all along. I’m really excited about it, I just need to know more about the South before I really start writing. I’m excited.

fanfiction.net, which is dorkier but easier for me to do because i don’t feel comfortable with some of my own characters just yet,
and fictionpress.com, which is going to help me tremendously with character and plot development. i have two stories up, only a chapter or two of each, but i like working on them.
FFnet:
four stories, one complete.
a total of about 52,500 hits.
8 community adds
180 alerts
150 favorites
about 200 reviews
total of 129k words !
FPcom:
two stories
about 100 hits
no comm adds
a few alerts
a few favorites
3 reviews.
total of about 9k words.
i’m almost to where i want to be with this goal :]

coming in at 41,496 words, with 20 chapters…
a total of over 15,000 hits (each hit is just on one chapter, not 15k of the whole story, but still)
with, at finish, a total of 140 alerts, 214 “favorites” and even one add into a reader’s community of her favorite stories of a certain type,
and almost 100 reviews, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM POSITIVE,
i would say that it was definitely a success :D
I already have two others in the works, both are 15k and 25k words long, and they are doing alright (not as greast as that first one, obviously) and I’ve posted the first chapter to a fourth story. And now, here’s the big bit, I’ve been so inspired by this bit, that I’m posting the beginning to TWO more stories in the next few days! All of these ideas for new things just keep popping into my head now. I love it. I feel amazing.
Also – this makes my current word count over 80,000 words. 10,000 in one day. In just a few hours, really. I should write myself a numerical goal. This number of stories, or this number of words. I think 200,000 is a good first step, but I’d like to keep this goal up until 500,000. Or maybe even 1,000,000, but that might take a whole year. We’ll see. :]
