get my car fixed

I am wondering if my mechanic did a little something to the spot that was leaking, because it rained a lot his winter, and the leak in my car wasn’t even noticeable.

when it rains it pours – right after the speedometer problem, I had a problem with the calipers on the brakes. Everything is fixed now except for the leak that is causing the little wet spot on the floor (they said it may be windshield related). The mechanic recommended a body shop to fix that, but after this unexpected chain of other repairs, that will have to wait. I can live with that.

The shop fixed everything up (except they didn’t have a lot of time to spend on the wet spot on the floor diagnosis), and then, by coincidence, and just my luck, something with the speedometer is has just gone awry, and I have to bring it back in to the shop again. I guess if one keeps driving one’s car, one is going to have to keep fixing it…
After I take my car in this week and get this speedometer thing fixed, I am going to change this goal to “get the required regular maintenance done on my car regularly.”
I am also going to ask them if they can spend a little more time trying to figure out that wet spot this time.

The car goes to the shop on Tuesday; I especially hope that they can fix the brake lights!!

Right now I just need to make an appointment. My car is old yet mechanically reliable, and I would like to keep it going and in decent shape. It currently needs the regular maintenance “full service” done. The only additional problem that worries me now is with the brake lights. The last time I brought it in for the brake lights, they told me that they were working fine, and they couldn’t see any problems, but still, people pull up to me on the street to let me know the brake lights are not working. Danger! I also want the shop to see if they can figure out the mysterious wet spot that happens when it rains before the rainy season starts up again. I can’t figure out how water is getting in and making this small wet spot on the floor from the rain, but I hope they can. And I hope they can fix it. I have been putting off making this appointment, but I just need to do it, which is why I put it on my list!
