So in my quest to get fit, I am willing to try anything once.
So a friend of a friend needed to re-home his 5 year old Border Collie. Her name is Abbey and she is lovely. A little nervous but she is settling in well. We are walking daily, If I don’t walk her, another member of my family walks her. She gets 4 or 5 walks every day. I take her for at least a hour each day but most of the time it is 2 to 3 hours a day. I am enjoying the walking.
So my dad runs marathon and he has done since i was little. He gave them up for a couple of years but he has got back into running again now.
So we fixed up my bike so i could get some exercise and my dad then decided that i could go out with him. Him jogging and my riding. I am so unfit and I am finding it hard but it is getting easier. I am like in some ways because i live really close to a forest which has cycle tracks. Its all hills, big and small. Its hard work on the legs but its lovely up in the woods. At first i couldnt get up any of the hills but slowly i am getting up the hills on my bike. Some hills i will never get up all the way but i am hoping for half way at best.
So my main challenge for August has been to do 20 Sit-up each day but I have been crap at remembering to do them. So I am doing a running weekly total of how many I am behind. Was catching up but have fallen even more behind. I will catch up and complete this task.
I also set myself a second august challenge as I was dog sitting and had to walk the dog 3 times a day. I did 2×20 minutes walks and 1×30 minutes. So the challenge was to do 30 minutes of walking or 1 hour on my mountain bike. So far it has all been walking due to my mountain bike not being fit for me to use. Hoping to get my bike fixed at the weekend.
My exercise has just stopped because i have been ill and not fit to do anything. So i want to slow start do some exercise and i was think that sit ups are a good thing to start with. It will also help tighten my stomach muscle as well as other muscle in my body.
I do the race for life walk and really enjoyed it. I missed the exercise which is weird but i am going to try walking at weekends again.
I go walking most weekends now, mainly on Sunday but i am also trying to walk on Saturday too. I walk on my own but even now and again i go with my mum. At the moment i walk around Tilgate Park in Crawley but i want to go walking in the woods but it is far to muddy at the moment. I cant wait for the weather to get better.
So i have been trying to exercise every morning for 30mins but it doesn’t always happen. I have had a jaw infection and a swollen face and it has been really sore. I have been using My Fitness Coach which has been fun. I have been really enjoying exercise. I have also been trying to do 10000 steps a day which is not always easy but i am getting there. Most days i am doing between 8000 and 12000. Some days are easier then other days. I am going for walks in my lunch hour at work and i am going for walks when i get home from work if i need too. Exercising in the morning sets me up for the day and i seem to be having better days.
I am having trouble getting into a fitness routine. I am having trouble sleeping which means that I don’t get much sleep which means I don’t have any energy to exercise. So exercise routine is not going to plan like the dieting. I am going to try and do a small routine everyday and keep it going. I am going to stay away from The Biggest Loser and I am going to try My Fitness Coach. I want to get useds to exercising before doing the The Biggest Loser again. The Biggest Loser program needs space and I don’t have a lot of space. So Sunday is going to be the first day of fitness, as tomorrow is Saturday and I am off to the cinema with my nephew and 3 goddaughter. May try on the afternoon but if not Sunday is day one.
I have a Wii and i have some programs. My programs are Wii Fit, Biggest Loser USA, My Fitness Coach and Just Dance. All these programs are designed to help me get fit and lose weight which is New Years Resolutions 1 & 2.
