i hit 43,000 words today. :D the last couple of days i’ve really been pushing ahead with the plot.
yesterday i started writing my exciting ending, which really made me happy to be writing something of a different setting and nature. i’ve managed to do about 16,000 words in the last 3 days, which of course i’m very happy with.
but it seems that my novel isnt actually long enough for 50,000 words. i’m pushing my plot forward as much as i can at the moment, but really, i will stop it as soon as possible. I dont really know what i’m going to fill my last 7,000 words with, but i hope i make it somehow!

this last week feels like it’s gone so quick! it’s been a great novel-writing experience so far. i know i’m still ahead of the schedule, but i’ve been lagging a little bit recently. just a couple of hours ago, i decided to spend a few hours and focus on writing.
my novel continues to take crazy turns and twists everywhere. it seems that my imaginination is too active to stick to a basic plot. things keep happening that i never dreamed i’d be writing about. i can think of some stupid/ingenius plot twist, and 10 seconds later i’ll have it all planned out and i’ll be writing about it straightaway. and i’m still so excited to write the ending of my novel. i can’t wait for the ending!
although, i’m kind of worried that i will write my whole novel before i reach 50,000 words. i’m halfway through now – at 25,000 words. and i’m (i think) more than halfway through my novel. i really dont think i can make it stretch to another 25,000 words. but hopefully i will adjust my plot to fit in some more twists that will fill in a good few thousand words.
i hope it all works out! :D

i passed 17,000 words today. i’m definitely slowing down in the amount of words i’m writing each day – not that that’s a bad thing. i’m just getting deeper into my story. i’m starting to care about it a bit more than when i started.
i’m still having lots of fun with it though. long before i started, i knew i wanted to write a humorous story. if it was sad or incredibly deep, i feared losing the plot and not finishing out of lack of interest.
yesterday, i made a cover for my book. it made it pretty ‘official’ to me. i know it’ll never hit book stores or anything, but it was like a stamp of approval to me, from me.
and then today, i completely rewrote the plot for the ending of my novel. i hadn’t really planned a huge ending, but it was certainly a happy one. maybe just “they lived happily ever after”
but i felt that my mind needed reinvigorating today, and i wrote a totally crazy and unrealistic ending – i think it will help keep me interested in writing.
even though i’m not taking my actual plot seriously (i want to have fun with it – it’s MY novel after all, right?), i definitely take the aim seriously. if i fail to reach 50,000 words and i dont get to write my ending, i’ll never forgive myself.
you can do it, katrina! xD

so it’s day three and i’m really getting into the habit of making writing a priority. 12,000 words so far. I find myself foregoing other semi-important tasks just to keep writing. i love it! i love seeing that i’ve added another 1,000 words to my word count.
i realise that i’m way ahead of schedule and i really don’t need to push myself that much. But i fear that if i start to take more breaks, i will start to lose the plot and i might lose all interest.
that’s why i’m speeding ahead. that way, even if i go crazy and take a week off, i can still recover. wooo let’s go!!! :D

i’ve been writing (well, typing) for about 6 hours (on and off) and i’ve done 3,523 words. not too shabby methinks.
if by some small chance you want to read a bit of what i’m writing (it’s probably incredibly boring though, moreso than i realise xD), you can find me here:
