This was a concert for the true Billy Joel fan—he performed a LOT of stuff from the albums that people were less familiar with (though many of the Syracuse crowd knew the words to everything, even to more obscure songs like Miami 2017). He played my FAVORITE song, “Summer Highland Falls,” and to my surprise I actually shed a few tears.
He told jokes, chatted with the crowd, and really had a great vibe going overall. He took 3 encores - “Only the Good Die Young,” “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant,” and, of course, “Piano Man”. The latter he let the audience sing most of - all 39,000 of us. It was nothing short of amazing. Hands down, the best rock concert I’ve ever been to in my life.
Check out this review if you think I’m just a loony fan.
