So a year ago I was reading Tommyknockers. Definitely put it on the back burner for awhile to read some other authors (what can I say, I started working at a bookstore and realized that I’m missing out on a lot of stuff!)
So I finally did finish Tommyknockers and it was probably one of my least favorites. Not so bad that I wanted to stop reading, but one I feel no emotion toward either way.
Today I finished Duma Key, the latest one he has out. As a perk to working at the bookstore, we get advanced copies in all the time, and when this one came my lovely coworkers held it for me. Although no longer an advanced copy, one of the better ones I’ve read in awhile. The letter from the publisher said that early readers were comparing it to Firestarter, so I thought it wouldn’t be good since I didn’t like Firestarter that much. Well, I can see how people could draw the connection, but the books are nothing alike! This one reads way better, though as with many of his other could have been done in 100 pages less. Action took awhile to really get going – about 1/3 of the way in. But glad to have read it any way. Another check on the list!

i finally finished christine after having to sit down and push my way through it. the book could have been finished in about 100 fewer pages and from the very beginning i knew how the ending would turn out. nevertheless its one step closer to my goal so yay!

finished reading the shining today. the book was good, though almost anticlimatic. not going to make the list of favorites, but not making the list of least favorites either. the description was really good so theres a real plus.

last tuesday i started reading the shining. i have about 50 pages left to go. i read so much this weekend i was sick of reading (not of the book but the act of reading itself)
not sure which i will read next but i know im holding off on dark tower. this summer spent at home should provide an excellent opportunity to make a large dent in the list!
