There’s a lot of beauty and ugliness in the world and living life to the fullest means experiences moments that are so beautiful that I’m ready to die for them. Living in that very moment and being so thankful and overjoyed by the experience when you feel most alive and you know it’s worth all the effort and pain it took to get you there.
The more real beauty I see the more do I love life and the less am I afraid of dying.
A moment of absolute beauty to me is seeing the Florida sunrise riding my road bike on a back country road, over the swamps and pastures. When the morning mist is hanging short over the ground, leaving the tops of pine and palm trees uncovered and the sky in all shades of pink and blue, just very little clouds in the east over the Atlantic Ocean. And then suddenly I see the tops of just one clouds turn golden, slowly getting brighter and brighter and I know that the moment’s not far away. I keep paddling but can hardly turn my eyes away from this spot where I know the sun will be coming up so shortly.
The sun makes it over the clouds and everything is golden, the mist is getting thinner and thinner, burning off from the sun.
I’m riding home knowing that this is a moment so beautiful and so full of life that I’d be willing to die for it.
