Be more green

Despite everything I was told about dyeing Easter eggs with beetroot (the “natural” way) this does not work! At least not the way I expected it to: instead of nice red eggs I now have light pink, very blotchy, very unevenly colored eggs (although the splatters on the stove top were a nice intense pink ;-)).
Definitely not worth the hassle.

The bottle of shower gel I´m currently using will be my last. I´ll switch to soap bars – to automatically use less, to save plastic bottles and to prevent the water in shower gel from being transported when I can easily add water to soap from my very own tap :-)
Ok, something new every day ;-)

• lemon juice for cleaning the sink and removing water stains from pots and pans.
• lemon juice and salt to clean the oven (scrub the oven with the mixture after heating it)
• using microfibre cloths without any chemicals at all
• scrubbing a little harder instead of using aggressive chemicals ;-)

and I really liked what I found. Will buy more of these – and I went there with a cloth bag so as not to use a plastic bag :-)

I will slowly add to my list of thing I do to be more green.
What I already do:
- use public transport whenever possible
- save energy, i.e. by turning down the heating, not leaving the lights on in empty rooms etc.
- buy organic food
- since today: make my own all-purpose cleaner :-)
I´m not going to give up my current life style completely, but make small but consistent steps towards being more green.
