Join AmeriCorps

Id love to hear from any of you out there who have chosen to do AmeriCorps. Or even if you are like me, weighing it as a possibility. It’s on my mind a lot and even though it is a decision to make entirely on my own, I’d really like some input from people who have been in my shoes.

in light of my upcoming GRE test (not that i’ve actually registered or prepared in any way for it except buying a prep book.ugh..), i have been thinking A LOT about what my plans will be for after grad/master’s. not that i have to make a decision now or anything, but i’m really considering the idea of AmeriCorps.

i know that i have a lot of growing up to do. there are many many things that i take for granted. i have lived a privileged life thus far. i dont want to lose sight of the things that matter. i saw someone else’s goal was “do something for the greater good”. what an excellent way of looking at AmeriCorps. especially if i still don’t know exactly what i want to do by the time i graduate – and let’s face it, i’m damn confused.
