evolution...

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” -Charles Darwin

some food for thought...

It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome.
William James

as part of this...

i want to create a vision board. i never knew what it was until i saw someone else’s entry about how to make one.. i guess i’ve made them before in a sense because i used to pull things from magazines all the time and put them all over my walls. that was a long time ago though, and they were childish things.
i want to make one that is really inspired by ME. now to find the time…...... lol

lyrics

ever realize how some song lyrics just speak to you?? i love that. i’m not talking about the silly little ones about teenage love that are dominating my usual radio stations. i mean the song that you catch just a few lines of, you might not even know who sings it or what it’s called, but you just reallly like the way it sends a message.

here’s a couple examples for me:

“This time, I’ll be sailing
No more bailing boats for me
I’ll be out there on the sea
Just my confidence and me” – matt nathanson “little victories”

Life’s a journey, not a destination. And I just can’t tell, just what tomorrow brings. – aerosmith “amazing

this is helping me with another goal – learn about buddism. now i’m only just beginning to learn so who knows how long this fascination will continue, but i am really enjoying reading mantras from other religions. wikipedia is a great source, and i feel it’s helping me be more culturally aware. i had never heard of the Gayatri mantra and i am interested in how many people recite it as part of their daily ritual. it’s very intriguing.
