smile at strangers

I’ve been doing this a lot lately, I think I can mark this as done but I will continue to smile at others. :)

I have smiled at a lot of strangers lately. It genuinely seems to make them happy at least for most of them. It’s like a secret of the human race, when we smile at each other we acknowledge the others existence and self worth without having to say a word.

Smiling at strangers… it’s fabulous!

I try to smile at strangers when I’m out and about or driving or whenever. Sometimes I’m taken by surprise at how genuine of a smile I get in return. Other times I have to be careful because for some people a casual smile can be misinterpreted as a come on. Overall, I think this is a fantastic goal and if everyone does it think of how much happier the world would be :)

Like a fellow poster said, smiles are contagious. If someone doesn’t smile back it’s probably because they are surprised that a stranger is smiling at them… or their smiling muscles are broken… either way you did your part to spread the love

I try to do this when I’m out and I also try to hold the door open for others. It’s funny to see how some people are shocked by someone holding the door open for them. You’ll get a lot of nice responses and sometimes people can be rude and act like you’re there just to hold the door open for them.

anyway, I’m going to try to do this more often. :)
