here’s why I love this piece.

This is one of picasso’s many muses, Dora Maar. He said he could only think of her crying. Apparently, he used to pick fights and make her cry so he could paint her. What a monster!

This painting has such grotesque beauty. He’s created such an examination of the pain he put her through.

this guy is an amazing artist. If this was a bigger image, you could see that he’s divide the picture into a diagonal grid, and each diamond shaped box has a mini-abstract and they all add up to amazing images.

I painted this 4 years ago and it’s still my favourite. Maybe it’s when I realized I was allowed to paint anyway I like! And this is the first piece that was something I was happy to show and say, “I did this!”
