I saved a pigeon that had been attacked by a sparrowhawk, which is technically saving a life as I didn’t specify it had to be a human life… although my coworker quickly pointed out to me that my good deed was cancelled out by the fact the sparrowhawk was now probably dead from starvation.
I also caught a baby that was on the verge of falling out of a trolley. Again, probably saved it from a bump on the head, but unlikely to have actually saved it from death.
To be honest I don’t want this goal on my list anymore. I’d like to think I’d save a life if I was put into the position where it was required of me, but I don’t want to ever be in that situation as it would mean someone else was in danger. Perhaps I should just change my goal to something more easily achievable.
