Sometimes I forget. So I have done two things.
First : To remind myself to floss, I have a post-it on my bathroom mirror that says “Did you FLOSS?”
Second : To keep track of it and to make myself feel accomplished, I did an old little kid training trick. I made a little chart using a lined 3×5 card. I divided the card up so that there is a column for each day of the week and an extra column for “ALL WEEK!”
Every time I forget to do it, I put an X on that day. (I do this the next morning – because if it is still that day, I have a chance to do it!) .
Every time I remember to do it, I make a smiley face. If I go all week without missing a day, I put a smiley face in the ALL WEEK box.
Yes, I’m treating myself the way I’d treat a 3 year old getting potty trained. But flossing is important and those preschool methods work – even on us adults!
I keep editing this and I have NO idea why part of it is in giant letters.
