it must be stress related 3 years ago

because when i go home on vacation (actually go somewhere else or just not go to work) I seem to sleep a lot better when I dont worry about needing to get up the next morning to go to work.



when I'm stressed 4 years ago

I don’t tend to sleep well – my body is tired but my mind is still racing from all the different things going on that I feel like I dont have resolution on.

I often dream about work, which is probably a sign that my job + work life balance is out of whack. Sometimes it’s about problems I’m trying to solve (and wake up all upset that in my dream I wasn’t smart enough to type it all down) or sometimes recounting situations at work that didn’t sit well with me (like conflicts or disagreements).

The other unfortunate side effect of stress on my sleep is that it brings out my weirdo habit of talking in my sleep – this isn’t a new thing, according to my mom sometimes I talk in cantonese and as a kid I was often heard yelling at my brother in my sleep.

In general, I have never been one to sleep very much – don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to sleep, but rarely do I actually sleep more than a couple hours because I tend to not let myself. I’ll stay up late puttering around doing things instead of relaxing into sleep.

I find myself yawning and yearning for naps in the middle of the day, and every couple of weeks, I’ll be so exhausted I’ll fall asleep at 8pm or earlier on a friday night…
