clean out the garage

I’d say I’m almost halfway done. Getting a new car motivated me to clear some space.

The bulky trash collection was this week, so the sofa, three chairs , old television and boards from a disassembled desk were hauled off today. The garage feels bigger. I still need to tear down some boxes. This goal isn’t a big priority for me right now, though.

to do it at the new house. My garage is full of bulky stuff that needs to be thrown out. The city announced bulky trash collection on my street at the beginning of next month, so I’ll be able clear a lot of it out. Then I can get things organized in there!

It needs a good power washing, but it’s organized. I can fit my car in there now if I need to. :) Compare this picture to the before picture. Yay!

I worked in the garage today. I filled up my garbage can with junk. I have more junk for bulky trash day, and a computer monitor I need to take to a recycling place. Things are really looking better in there.

I swept part of the floor and stirred up a lot of dusties. ah-choo!

All the boxes are cut down and the last of them are in the recycle bin for pickup tomorrow. Now I just need to go through the remaining clutter and find a place for each thing (whether it’s the trash bin, donation box, corner of the garage or a place inside the house).

The empty boxes that have plagued my garage are almost all removed. Then I have to figure out what to do with the other miscellaneous clutter. I should be able to mark this goal off by mid-November. :)

The last two weekends, I’ve filled up the recycle bin with cut cardboard. I think three more weeks of that, and it’ll all be gone. Maybe four weeks. Woo-Hoo!!

Tomorrow is bulky trash pickup, so I put out a beat up box fan, two speakers and a foam chair. That makes a little bit more room in the garage. With a three day weekend coming up, I might be able to knock out some more of those boxes.

I made a lot of progress this weekend. I flattened all but one of the boxes I don’t want to keep. I’m keeping the boxes my musical instruments and TiVos came in. It’ll still be several weeks before I get it all cleaned out since trash is only picked up once a week, but it sure feels good to make this much progress.
