Buy a blank book and fill it with lyrics I've written

Very timely, too, since I have more lyrics to write in my book now. :)

I wrote all the lyrics I’ve ever written in my purple book (17 songs), and it’s only 15% full. That’s a lot of lyrics I still need to write. I better get started.

I’ll mark this goal done and that I want to do it again.

Writing these lyrics was a test for my perfectionism. I made some mistakes, but I didn’t let it get me down. I just crossed through them and kept writing. I’m disappointed in the ink stain on the cover, though. I wonder if I can find something that will take ink out of leather without making it worse.

I’ve written lyrics to two songs in my book. They’re songs I wrote a long time ago. I’m going to try to do one song each night until I get them all in there.

I found a blank book at Book People. I think it was created as a dream journal because it says the following on the cover:

Pay attention to your dreams—they might contain instinctive warnings, or an urgent message from your heart of hearts. Sometimes, a dream can be a compass to guide you from your truest self.

I’m not sure what the last line means… do people want to go away from their truest selves?

The book cover is made from very soft leather. I keep touching it, it’s so soft. The paper inside is off-white with lines. I saw some other books with pretty designs on the pages. I wanted something like that, but none of those had pretty covers. In this case, I thought the cover was more important that the pages.

Next up is starting to write my lyrics inside. That scares me a little because I never can hand write anything without making mistakes.

I should go out and buy a blank book this weekend. I’m thinking of going to Book People, a local Austin book store. They have lots of pretty blank books. I should also buy a nice felt tip pen. Or maybe a set of pens in different colors. And maybe some small stickers to stick around the lyrics. That sounds like fun.
