I need to focus elsewhere 4 years ago

I’ve thought about this goal this week. I’ve decided I’m concentrating on the wrong thing. I generally do sleep regularly. When I don’t, it’s a symptom of something bigger. Focusing on lack of sleep is like treating the cough when you have lung cancer. I need to focus on the metaphorical cancer.

I won’t mark this done, but I’d rather not keep a sleep log, and I’d rather not participate in punishments and rewards. Lack of sleep is punishment in itself, and sleeping well is a reward.

Thanks for the fun and encouragement. I’ll still be around to encourage you all to meet your goal. :)

Su: In bed at 10:30. toss turn. get up at midnight. In bed at 2:00. toss turn sleep toss turn sleep. get up at 6:15. [approx 3 hours sleep] At work 8:15 a.m.
M: 10:45 – 6:00 [7.25 hours] At work 8:30 a.m.
Tu: 11:00 – 6:15 [7.25 hours] At work 8:30 a.m.
W: 11:30 – 7:30 [8 hours] No work today. :)
Th: 11:00 – 6:15 [7.25 hours] At work 8:30 a.m.
F: 10:45 – 6:45 [8 hours] No work! Vacation!
Sa: Vacation!

Goal: 7 hours of sleep each night; get to work by 8:30 a.m.

Su: 10:50 – 5:50 [7 hours] At work: 8:30 a.m. (I even had time to go to early vote and go to the post office. Yay me!)
M: 11:00 – 6:00 [7 hours] At work: 8:30 a.m.
Tu: midnight – 6:00 [6 hours] I watched the Astros as long as I could stand it. :( At work: 8:30 a.m.
W: 10:30 – 6:00 [7.5 hours] At work: 8:45 a.m. [punishment kicks in tomorrow… no reading 43T before work :(]
Th: 10:30 – 6:00 [7.5 hours] At work: 8:15 a.m. [made up for the 15 minutes yesterday by not visiting 43T this morning.]
F: midnight – 9:30 [9.5 hours]
Sa: 12:30 – 10:30 [11 hours (includes time change)]

Each day I’m late for work, I can’t look at 43Things before work on the following day.

Oh goodie (My sleep goal) 4 years ago

I got invited to sleep regularly with DJ, Des and Deni. Do I need to change my name so it starts with a “D”? (Don’t call me Dim!!!!)

What do I need to do? Post my go-to-sleep schedule? I didn’t do so well last night. I got 3 hours of sleep. :( Friday night, though, I got 9 hours. :)

My goal would be to be in bed by 10:30 every work night. Except tonight, I should be in bed earlier because I have to get up at 3:30 so I can launch my big project at work before other people get to work.
