For me, anyway. The worst part of it was that I kept blaming myself. “I wished too big of a wish.” “I couldn’t think of a wish quickly enough.”
I’m sure I’ll keep wishing when I see 11:11, but if a wish comes true, I’ll chalk it up to coincidence based on my prior experience.

I’ve made two wishes that haven’t come true. I can make excuses for them not coming true, though.
The first wish was a huge wish. Major, life-changing wish. Maybe bigger than the 11:11 magic can work quickly.
The second wish might have been expressed too late. I looked at the clock, and it said 11:11. I thought, “Oh! I get to make a wish!” By the end of that thought, it was 11:12. I thought, “I wonder if it’s too late?” Then I made a wish anyway. I wished they would mow the field where I walk Lily by Monday (today). Some of the weeds are up to my eyes!! They didn’t mow the field.
I’ll keep trying until it works (or at least a coincidence happens that makes it seem to work).

I had crawled into bed, and I looked at the clock on the cable box. I wasn’t prepared for it, and I wished a huge wish. I didn’t intend to wish a huge wish when I finally saw 11:11, but I hope it comes true.

I just learned yesterday about making a wish when the clock says 11:11. That’s cool. I don’t remember noticing 11:11 on a clock before, though. I notice 4:28 a lot because my birthday is 4/28. That’s something from the X-Files. If I remember correctly, Scully would often wake up at 10:13 which was Chris Carter’s birthday (the X-Files creator).
I glanced at the clock today at work at 4:28. On a lark, I made a wish, and it came true.
