Tofu with my “F11” (I don’t know what the name is… just the ordering number) at Madam Mam’s. Tofu in my Pad Thai at Pei Wei. Tofu on my salad at Blue Dahlia Bistro.
My favorite tofu dishes so far are at Mr. Natural, Pei Wei and Veggie Heaven. Madam Mam’s tofu isn’t that great, but it’s tolerable. The tofu at Blue Dahlia Bistro was awful (cold and wet), but the salad it was on was wonderful, so it wasn’t a total waste of a meal.
I guess I should take the next step and make a tofu dish at home. My friend Brian has told me a few times how to cook with it.

I had “Lucky Seven.”
7 fried tofu balls made of celery, carrots, chestnut, vegetable protein, and breadcrumbs are cooked with broccoli, baby bok choy, cauliflower, carrots, napa cabbage, onion and garlic in a slightly sweet and spicy red sauce.
The sauce was much to soupy for my liking, but the tofu balls were very tasty.

Mr. Natural has great tofu dishes. At lunch (with Brian), I had tofu and sunflower seed tamales and a tofu and black bean gordita. Very, very good, and didn’t weigh me down like it would have if it contained meat.

Lately, I’ve been choosing tofu when I go to Pei Wei or Madam Mam’s. I’m starting to prefer it in some dishes.
There’s a vegetarian restaurant in Austin called Mr. Natural that has very good tofu and sunflower seed tamales, too. I haven’t been there in a long time. I hope I remember to suggest it to Brian this week.
