Do something new every month

Oops, I’ve been seriously neglecting this goal. It’s been a crazy several months. My husband moved to the opposite coast in July to take a new job. I finally found my own new job in the new location in September. I move in two weeks. I’m in the process of trying to sell the old house. I’m sure there’s been a few new things in there somewhere, but I’ve been too distracted to keep track.

I plan to revisit this goal seriously (in conjunction with several of my most recently-added goals) once I’m re-settled in the Bay Area.

Didn’t accomplish this goal in June. I think it rained almost every day, which put a serious damper on my desire to get out of the house and seek things out.

Visited my grandparents house for the first time in 10 years. Also went golfing for the first time in almost 15 years. While neither activity is truly new, I figure bridging a 10 year gap is close enough to count!

Went to Italy! It was awesome!

I’m taking ice skating lessons. It’s not truly new (as I have gone skating before), but I’ve never taken lessons before, so I’m certainly learning some new things. Like swizzles!

Drank some pints in a pub in Dublin.

Thanks to my lovely husband and his planning of a trip to Atlantic City for Christmas, I get to add two more new things to the December list:

1) get a professional massage (awesome Christmas present! Will definitely need to do that again!)

2) play craps (heretofore strictly a low-limit poker and occasional blackjack player)

While on vacation in Jamaica last week, I attempted to windsurf. I wasn’t very successful, but it was fun nonetheless!

Went to Ireland for the first time. Unfortunately it was a work trip, so I didn’t get to see much beyond the hotel and my job site. But it was still fun and interesting!

Saw NOFX for the first time last night. Awesome! But I’m getting a little old for the standing-only venues that punk bands favor. My feet, knees, and back are paying the price today.
