It’s called equal humans rights. It’s called separation of church and state. I have never gotten a sufficient answer to the question “how does gay marriage threaten homosexual marriage?” And don’t give me any nonsense about “civil unions are ok, but the word ‘marriage’ is for a religious convenant between one man and one woman.” Because guess what – my husband and I are not religious, and no one seems to have a problem with us using the word “marriage” to describe our partnership. I hope that someday the US will wake up and get rid of its legalized homophobia.
