And I finished week 9 workout 3 with a total of 3.09 miles! Even though that’s including the warm up and cool down walk, it’s so close to a 5k! My next goal is to keep working on running a 5k without stopping. Though I will be doing a warm up and cool down walk, I’ll stop counting them towards my total.
Feels great!

So I had no problems with week 8 which is so weird because I struggled throughout all of week 7 and was really considering doing it again.
So on Monday I’m going to start the 9th and final week! I know I can do it!

Seriously it was wicked hard. I did worse each time, even though I had to slow down each time!
I’m debating trying the week again, but I’m not sure. I only have two more weeks after this. I’m going to give myself a day’s break before attempting week 8 again and I’m going to be eating much healthier starting tomorrow so I’ll see if that makes a difference as well. I’ll try week 8 day 1 on Tuesday and see if I can do it. If I can’t then I’ll just repeat week 7 again. I don’t really want to do that since I’m so close to finishing but, gotta do what you gotta do.

I just did week 5 day 3, the 20-minute run, without stopping!
I couldn’t believe it! Wasn’t it just last week or the week before that I had to stop because I couldn’t finish a simple 5-minute run?
Also, now I’m more than halfway done! Four more weeks and I’ll be on my way to running a 5k!

Complete and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it’d be.
Next is Day 3, which is the big 20-minute run. I hope I’m up for it!
I also hope I don’t have to reduce my “run” time anymore. I’ve already reduced it gradually from 6.3 to 5.5mph and I really don’t think anyone considers less than 5.5mph a run. A jog, yes, but not a run and I want to run!

So W4W1 I wound up walking for a tiny bit of the final 5 minutes.
W4W2 I completed!
W4W3 I could not even finish because I got a bad stitch in my side.
I will complete W4W3 on Monday and then do W5 starting Tuesday or Wednesday.

I started week 4 today and like I said, the 5-minute runs were daunting. So what I did was I slowed my run speed (I’ve been doing this on a treadmill) from 6.3 to 5.8 for the run, but also sped up my walk from 3.5 to 4.0. It helped a little but for the final 5-minute run, I had to slow to a brisk walk for a little bit.
The next workout I will run for the whole set “run” time!

I got sidetracked last time, so I started the workout yet again three weeks ago.
Just finished Week 3! The 3 minute run was rough for me and next week’s 5 minute run seems very intimidating.
I noticed also that my total distance decreased with this week even though I ran and walked at the same speeds as always. I know the goal of this workout is endurance first, but can anyone tell me whether by the end the distance increases closer to the 3.1 miles? I’m just barely breaking 2 miles and that’s with the warm ups and cool downs. It’s not a concern, but I’m just curious.

Completed. I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to but I did it! Off to a good start!
