Michael: And the food chain is part of the food pyramid, right??
Me: No. It’s like… at the bottom you have plants, you always have plants at the bottom. And then there’s something that eats the plants, and then something that eats the something that eats the plants, and then the highest thing, and that’s the top of the food chain.
Michael: [blank stare]
Me: FOR EXAMPLE ~ Cows eat grass, and we eat cows, so we’re at the top of the food chain.
Michael: [thrusting his hands into the air]—YES!

Lyssi slept a ton… and when I came home from work she immediately began nursing, and didn’t quit for almost an hour straight. :-)
and from Michael:
“How I was born: Mommy sat on the toilet and a plsenta cam out.” (He made a huoooooge poster of this at his daycare today… bahahahaha!!)
“Mommy, what does ‘resist’ mean?”
“Mommy, what does ‘exterminate’ mean?”
today, Michael thought his color-by-numbers picture (of a red wagon) was…
.... an eyeball. :D
Lyssi got another new pair of shoes. and this time, she didn’t puke in the car on the way back from Jackson.
i love how creative my kids can be. :) give them some glue and construction paper… maybe throw in some crayons or colored pencils or old magazines… a pair of creative scissors… and they’re set. ;)
... and apparently macaroni noodles. o.O
today Michael made a card for his friend with a train and macaroni noodles. :D
today Lyssi made a “choo choo train” with macaroni noodles and glue and green paper. (although it might still be “broken” which she has been worried over for awhile…!)
omg i’ve been completely failing on this lately. :(
today, Lyssi spun around in circles, hopping, and singing, in the pharmacy while i was waiting for my prescriptions. we also took turns singing songs about grandpa jim in the bathroom. :D
today, Michael stayed on Super Star all day. he wore his cat costume and wings and “wizard” hat and jumped off the sofa… when i told him not to he said, “how else will i fly??!”
Michael stayed on Super Star all day. :)
Tonight Lyssi tried to put a play food can up her butt. (d’oh!)
Lyssi puked lots. (arggh) on the happier side ~~ she has … also … slept a lot….. ok not much i can say positive other than she’s been really cute and sweet and lovey today, and really taking weaning very well.
Michael stayed in the car with my dad while i picked up a prescription and they discussed zombies (again!). he was also very very well behaved while i swept / mopped / vaccuumed / etc etc etc…
i know the day’s not over yet but…..
today both of my kids boogeyed in the dark with their new dance dance revolution bracelets from Burger King.
michael gave me a lecture on the fact that blueberry muffins aren’t really health food.
lyssi was very quiet and sniffly all day.
today…
Michael made a game of running over to hug me (with Lyssi!) while we were in Rite Aid this afternoon. at dinner we had a very good discussion (again!).
in Rite Aid, Lyssi grabbed a big Dora doll and said she loved her. :) and tonight at dinner she said that sucking spaghetti noodles up was a “kiss” (because it makes a sound like a kiss!!). so cute!
