So... 3 years ago

I was walking into a grocery store to get an application when I look at some of the other places in the plaza thing, and guess what I saw? A place that has Jazzercise!!! How cool is that? I’m so happy. So when I move, I’ll be like, five minutes away from this place. I’m excited, and when I get settled in, I’m going to go in and check it out.

Haven’t done much in the work out department. Been very busy with packing and tomorrow I start school again. But I’ll be back soon. Love to read all of you guys’ entries- have a great rest of the week!!

I haven’t been keeping up with my goals. I know! But I’ve had some family issues, work, and the beginning of school upon me lately. Ahhhh.

Today at work I had one heck of a leg workout. I basically walked (pretty fast mind you) for five hours. I was a runner and that was crazy! My ankle is still giving me trouble. My mom still thinks I tore a ligament or something else in there because it’s still in pretty bad shape. Hopefully next week I can get back into the game completely, but we shall see. I’ve been stressed over some things, so I don’t know, but I will get back in there.

Keep up all of your fabulous work team!!

Getting back on track... 3 years ago

Yesterday I began doing some yoga. I found that my ankle is still really weak, but I can strengthen it up as I go along day by day. Right now it isn’t swollen, but yesterday my ankle looked like it had half of a baseball glued to it. It doesn’t hurt much, but it does swell still.

I also started working from this book for the ball exercises. Some of those are harder because I definitely feel the excess strain on my ankle, so I marked the ones that hurt it the most, and will come back to those when it is stronger.

I have been reading through all of you guys’ progress and I have to say congrats on doing so well! Have a good end of the week/beginning of exercise week (I know some of you start at the end depending on how the week was). Keep it up team!

I'm about there. 3 years ago

I’m going to start playing softball this week- or at least I’m going to try. I’m walking without my cast now because that seemed to hurt more wearing it, and I have wrapped it up for work.

I was once again a runner yesterday for my job which means getting the food, checking the lines and such. I work in picnics where we set out the meal a company pays for. Anywho, I did that for two hours yesterday. My foot was about to fall off it hurt so bad. But when I got home I elevated it because it was swollen a bit.

I’m going to get a good brace for it, and start out slow. We only have one game (tonight) but I’m not going to play in that. We have a practice tomorrow and Thursday, so I think I can get in there slowly again. I’m also going to try some yoga poses my mom recommended would help strengthen my ankle up.

I hope all of you have a great week! Go team!!

I'm getting there... 3 years ago

My ankle is doing alright. I can now walk with only my air cast without using the coban for extra support. All it really is now is painful. I’ve been exercising it and stretching it out all day which really feels good. It hurts at first stretching, but it really needs it. I have to wear the cast for another week, and I’m going to try and start back up at work this weekend. I want to push myself, but I don’t want to end up hurting myself. I think I’m doing pretty well though for how bad of a sprain it was.

Edit: I can walk without my cast and my foot doesn’t hurt!

Keep it up team, you’re all doing great!

I just wanted to check up on everyone’s entries and update real quick. Thank you all who commented on my last entry, I appreciated what you had to say. :)

Yesterday I started walking with one crutch which really made me happy. I walked slow, but it surprisingly didn’t hurt me and I thought that was great. With my cast I got a packet that had some exercises to strenghthen my ankle which I am going to try doing today actually. FireDragon, I know you mentioned how I could do some stretches and such to strengthen it, and that made me think that I had that packet, so thanks for reminding me!

I’m getting there. I plan on stretching and working my ankle this week. I am going to try walking for a bit without my cast at the end of the week, but only if I feel it’s something I feel it can handle.

Have a great week in all of your goals. I’m cheering you all on! Go Team!

Bad News 3 years ago

So the other night while I was playing softball- Wednesday- I was running towards first and I guess I tripped. My ankle twisted and I fell onto my back saying some choice words. It hurt! I walked behind the dug out and was trying to see if I could possibly play on it, but it was getting worse, so I iced it. When I got home (my parents and sister were amazed I drove home. Why? it was my left ankle, and at the time I wasn’t too worried about it really. My dad wrapped it, and then yesterday morning I went and had it X-rayed. I only had those done because I heard (as did some others) a very noticable cracking noise. You know how people crack their fingers? Well it was worse than that.

I found out that it was a pretty bad sprain. Which sucks. At least it’s not fractured, but this sprain is bad. I may not be able to play anymore softball this year which sucks you know? That’s the only thing I look forward to during the summer, and it’s probably going to cease. Of all things I had to do- I had to sprain my ankle.

Now I am wearing some sort of ankle air boot kind of thing. It helps, and I borrowed some crutches from a friend. So yeah. Oh and I can’t work for a week.

Keep up all of your hard work team!

This week I decided to not to write specific goals to get me back on track. I just decided to exercise for at least four days this week since I’m busy with everything else. Then next week I’m going to specify =my goals. It’s just easier to take it one step at a time.

I had a softball game last night which went well all around. I was pretty busy the whole night which was great! My knee hurts from scraping it up at home plate, but other than that I am going to be great to play again tonight. This is definitely one activity that will always keep up in my motivation.

You’re all a great team! Thanks for all the support!

Pretty much non-existant 3 years ago

So…

This week has pretty much been a downfall on for me. I did some yoga, but I couldn’t get through all of it. I did my dance routine. My softball this week was pretty much non-existant because of abysmal weather situations.

I decided to wait until the beginning of the month to get my membership to the community center gym.

I worked nine hours today. For seven hours I either was walking, sweeping, lifting, or pushing really heavy coolers up a winding hill (that last one gave me an all over work out- whew! It was a great one). I tried to stay moving all day, or the most that I could. I worked a couple other days which was nice because I got to be a runner which means I walk an entire picnic (I work in picnics and Catering at an amusement park).

I am going to make sure that next week is an action packed week. I’m going to figure out which goals I want to achieve and I will meet them. Why? Because all of you can do it, and do reach them, and I KNOW I can too. I’m thinking of trying out the exercise ball workout that my mom has. It seems pretty cool, but I never tried it. Also I have three softball games next week! And I have to work, so much walking is in store! I am going to plan all of my goals hopefully by tomorrow, but I don’t know because I have to work yet again. I’ll make time.

I’ve read all the entries you all have posted and I have to say you guys are amazing! You’re all my inspiration and definitely my motivators! Go team!

I did my dance routine I got from a magazine and it really has worked. The legs have definitely gained muscle. Plus, it’s always a nice exercise I look forward to daily. =)

I added a goal earlier to do 100 sit-ups for a week, so I started that goal this evening. I started doing some pilates, which targeted my core muscles.

Tomorrow I think I will go to the gym and do some weight training and some other things in the morning then come home and do some yoga. Then I have softball practice tomorrow evening which always keeps me moving.

Keep Yourselves Going Team!

Megan has gotten 3 cheers on this goal.
