And he’s still the most handsome man in the room and makes my heart flutter. Of course, in almost 2 decades, he’s also found many, many ways to drive me crazy. He has told me that I also excel in driving him crazy. We’ve stood side by side through his going to Iraq, our children growing up, my Dad passing away, job losses, the birth of our granddaughter, and numerous smaller events, good & bad. Some people might look at us and say we don’t “talk”, but we have enough history now that we don’t always need words. Doesn’t mean we can let our guard down – have to keep paying attention lest we lose what we have spent decades building. It’s work. It’s the hardest thing we’ve ever done – but the rewards are The Best. Sounds corny, but he really IS my best friend, my buddy, and my lover, even after all these years.
