Why organic? 3 years ago

I am not crazy about consuming pesticides or feeding them to my family, but the main reason I want to go organic (someday, when financially its more feasible) is to be a good steward of the earth—I can’t imagine sustained pesticide use is good for the soil and I’d like my great great great grandchildren to have non-engineered and not-overly-processed food to eat. I’m crunchy like that.
