own a house

So, Kris and I are going to save up 25k from now until next year. We’ll see if we reach this goal.

I might get an opportunity to buy a cheap townhouse. Just when I thought it was pretty much out of the question. Maybe yes maybe no.

I recently got a job. I’ll need to save up. I’ll probably be getting a 3-bedroom townhouse. We’ll see. I’ll keep you posted.

We’ve moved in since then. We’re saving up to put a down payment this summer!

I didn’t think this goal would come any time soon, but Kris and I signed a lease for a town home. It is beautiful. We won’t move for another 1-2 weeks. It is so beautiful that we have considered putting a down payment on it to buy next year.

Houston Metro is paying us to move out. We’re getting a couple thousand dollars. I’m not completely sure what to do with the money other than pay the car note in advance and pay Shaq’s Sylvan in advance.

This year, Kris and I should be receiving about $20,000 from the federal government because they are building a light rail straight through the place we live at. This is enough to afford a 2 bedroom apartment for a year. The rest of the money will go toward paying for the car note and Shaq’s Sylvan.

After Kris and I graduate in spring 2008, we will be hired at our first professional jobs. After that, it’s house searching time!
