I’ve started using this regularly. ... I know, a bit negative, but still a great word.

We all know dictionaries (online ones) will send you a word a day so that you can learn new words to expand your vocabulary. I need something like that, but I fear a word a day would be overwhelming and I would never actually use the words I would receive in my email.
I think what would be better for me is to meet a “word friend,” a person who has this vastly larger vocab than me who wouldn’t mind emailing or phoning me with these new words, using them in a sentence and then every few days or so, test me on the previous few words, ensuring the new words get cemented into my melon. A word a day would work sure, but won’t stay in my fleeting memory.
Any volunteer out there?
I admit it, I have a word fetish. I have been addicted to words since I was a kid, reading the dictionary when I would have nothing else to read. I make words up when I can’t think of the one I want - like there aren’t enough already? - or I can’t think of it. The 21vol edition of the OED has been on my Christmas (Krismas) list since I was 10 years old; alas, I own the Oxford concise.
Words, in correct context. Yum.
