Augh, I am so bored with everything that I have been eating recently but I haven’t had the time to do a lot of searching for new ideas and recipes. I really want to start cooking more vegetarian food and more Indian food, but I need things that are fairly simple, so I can prepare them when I am tired and stressed out instead of ordering takeout from one of the same old places again and being bored with food.

So I decided to cook tonight, since it has been a while and I am not doing so well on this goal. I invited my boyfriend’s sister and she was all set to come but then she got invited to dinner with a company that was interviewing her for a job. I was disappointed—until I finished cooking and everything I had made was just off. The salmon had a funny texture, the sweet potatoes were not sweet (not really my fault…probably agribusiness or something). The whole thing was a wash, which was such a pain. Grrrr…. We ended up getting takeout….
Forced ourselves to cook last night instead of getting takeout, even though we were really tired and starving. Made homemade tacos, which was so worth it. In the words of Homer Simpson “Taco Taco Man, I Want to be a Taco Man!” (or a taco woman, in my case)
I am in school and my boyfriend has the world’s worst job (working basically non-stop from 8am until 1pm), so we both find it very difficult to muster up the energy to cook. There are about 3 decent takeout places in our delivery area, so we generally end up ordering the same things all the time, which is really gross. Plus we are spending so much money on this food that is not even that enjoyable. So I want to try and get into the habit of cooking more and ordering takeout less.
