I donated several years ago and am planning to do it again. This time my daughter, age 6, and I are doing it together. I explained it to her and she’s very excited to be able to participate and help a kid in need :)
Our hair grows pretty fast, we’ve only been growing it out for a year but we should both have at least 10 inches to cut. My daughter wants to keep her long hair for Halloween (she’s going to be Princess Jasmine) so we’ll probably go get a cut together in November sometime.

In July of this year, I cut 13 inches off my hair and donated it to Locks of Love. Yes, my hair was shorter than I would’ve liked it, but it seems wasteful to cut your hair a few inches at a time just to throw it away, when someone could really use it. Our hair will grow back, we should be thankful for that, there are some kids whose one wish is that they’d have hair at all and now they might be able to.
And hey, it’s fun to think about where your hair might be this very moment. It could be traveling around the world, places you’ve never been :)
