get out of debt

I successfully accomplished this goal a year before my self-imposed deadline of “debt-free by 33!” I still can’t believe it. I’ve been under the crushing weight of credit card debt for almost ten years, and it hasn’t really sunk in yet that I’m out. 2008 is off to an awesome start – in the black!
The key for me was setting up an automatic repayment schedule, paying as much as I could while still saving money for investments, fun, travel, gift-giving, and education, and then focusing not on the debt or the paying of the debt, but focusing all my thoughts and energy towards PROSPERITY. Lo and behold, I was surprised the other day to look at all my account balances and see that I had enough money in the bank to make one final lump-sum payment to the credit card company. I’m FREE!!!

I just had a big fat paycheck and slammed $1,000 down on my credit card balance! Take that, evildoers! I hope to do the same next month, and the month after that, for as long as the battle rages, until it is won!

was a catch phrase I came up with about a year ago as I was pondering my next move in the game of life. Now, after a year of laying the foundation for future prosperity, I’m certain I’ll be able to do it by 33, and maybe even faster. But according to the Law of Attraction, what we focus on expands. So the key, I think, is to focus not on the debt, but on building wealth.
