I’ve been going to a class, doing it at home or with a friend every week for months now. It’s been the increase to more than once a week which has been the real challenge but I have discovered a new love – headstands :-)

They work really well for me – balance, a bit wacky, seems to reduce anxiety, fantastic shoulder stretch and I’ve discovered I can do kegel exercises in a headstand (as the energy gets grounded through my head and it doesn’t trigger my body into a sexual abuse memory which it does when sitting, standing or lying down). Only downside is that I get the urge to do a headstand in odd places – like on the train!!

I have consistently done yoga once a week (at a class with my son, or at home with a class mate and our kids during holidays) every week for about 3 months. I’d like to up it to twice a week but I think the fact that summer holidays have begun is going to be a good starter as the class has stopped so we will be doing it from home for that period. Once we get into the habit of doing it every week at home,it should be fairly easy to slide into a class too.
