Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Back to it!!

Ok, it’s been a couple of years, but I’m back in school! I am 2/3 through the semester and I can’t wait for Christmas break! I’m taking 13 credits and working 30 hours a week, and it’s tough, but so far I have a 3.5 GPA, so that’s encouraging. I have changed my major from elementary education to communication sciences and disorders, and then once I’m finished with my BS I will get an MS in Speech-Language Pathology. It’s going to be a 5 year process, but it will be worth it in the end.

Taking a break, but not for long!

I have completed 40 credits and decided to take a break this semester. I have needed this break, but I will be ready to start back up again in the summer or fall. It’ll take a while but it will all be worth it!

I am in my sophmore year and maintaing a 4.0 while working full-time!

I am in my sophmore year to become a teacher, and I have managed to maintain a 4.0 while taking full-time classes while working full-time, and I recently received a scholarship for Fall ‘09! I am so excited, and it is so rewarding.

One year almost completed

Well, I’m coming up on the second half of my freshman year in college. I’m really enjoying the whole process, and I am proud of myself because the first semester I managed to hold a 4.0 GPA, and it looks like this semester might be the same! I’ve been out of school for over 5 years, so it’s good to get back into learning. Only 3 or 4 years left to go!
