Recently booked the boat over to Tassie—we’re taking our kayaks with us and plan to spend atleast 7 of the 10 days out on the water, camping, or somewhere in between. It’s been a long year and I can’t wait for the tranquility, the connectedness, that I feel when in the wilds of Tasmania.

I’ve been commuting to work on-and-off for a year or so now. I like that it means I get outside, get some exercise but also get somewhere and I generally feel pretty good about life when I get there too (unlike the feeling you get being stuck in traffic).
Picking up my new bike on Thursday—my first ever brand spankin’ new bike, which I hope will encourage me to ride even more…
Hiked up into Kosciusko National Park (NSW, Australia) over Easter. It was windy and raining – we had to pitch the tent around 3pm and didn’t get out ‘til sunrise (apart from a few minutes in-between heavy rain when desperate!). There were stages when we were sure the tent fly would rip off and we’d have to hike out in the middle of the night in freezing temperatures. Woke up: the tent, and all around, was covered in snow. What a beautiful, beautiful sight – made it all worthwhile.
I don’t realise how much I miss it until I’m out their walking/camping again. It’s a certain kind of feeling, one of calmness and centeredness…
With spring here it won’t be long until we’ll be able to go hiking in Kosciusko National Park below the snow drift. Then the Budawangs and Grampians I think (also some climbing at Mt Arapiles)—what fun!
