remember compliments I receive

I got complimented on my chess skills by someone who actually took lessons, cool! (even though he beat me quite easily). Also, this Polish guy on the tram spontaneously invited me to join his chess club, after seeing me fumble around with my pocket chess set. His comment: “I never saw someone playing on the train, you must be very eager”.
Me so proud :)

Today we concluded our management course with a morning of reflection. In the end, we were all asked to give some positive feedback to each other, in the form of key-words that you associated with your fellow students after only 6 days of classes.
After 6 days of classes, people who did not know me before associated with me:

• Openness
• Pleasant in conversation, with a smile even on heavy subjects
• Stable in my process of development

My mom always praises me for being such an intuitive cook. She marvels at my ability to throw some ingredients in a pan and thereby make a tasty meal out of stuff that is just sitting in the cupboard. I think she’s easily impressed, but I am happy she feels this way.

Frank complimented me on my good presentation during the work discussion last thuesday. Altough Frank is always extremely complimentative about pretty much anything, I felt happy about it.

As of today, I have been recognized as the microscopy guru of our department. All of a sudden, people having trouble with their histochemistry experiments are coming to me for help! Jan complimented me for being so nice in helping Reggy out. I felt so useless in the lab before, I felt like I wasn’t contributing anything. Now I know that I can, it makes me feel much better at work (even though my own experiments still suck :s).

Yesterday I made my first truly useful remark during the work discussion: I came up with a certain control to fix a problem someone observed in their experiment and no one had thought about this yet. There were lots of approving ohs and ahs and I felt good about it :)

Two friends said that my name and me remind them of butterflies

Wout complimented me on the nice pictures I made at his promotion and subsequent party

Many people complimented me on my speech at dinner last Friday. They said it was entertaining and that I spoke nice and clear.
