get rid of stuff i don't need

Major closet cleanup! It was tough, never knew one could get so attached to pieces of cloth :D
So let’s pay our last respect to my:

- knitted rainbow vest (allegedly the most Kimmie piece of clothing I ever owned)
- bright red Overseas pants (my skating days are sort of over)
- two long wintercoats (one totally worn down, the other a hardly worn 100euro mistake)
- my matching ‘kiss my monkey’ shirt that I bought with Lein, after phoning her to confirm that she also had thrown it away
- two bags full of other, less memorable stuff

Yesterday we celebrated Sinterklaas (a typical Dutch holiday:)) with some friends. This gave me the opportunity to give away three things I did not need: an adorable frog shaped coat hanger, a wind carousel for in the garden and flavored tea.
Cool! Unfortunately, I also got some presents in return that I’m not entirely sure I’ll use…

since this week the cycle shed (i.e. the small terrace behind our house) is completely junk free! This included getting rid of:

- 5 bikewrecks
- old washingmachine
- lots and lots of planks, boards, beams and other wood
- old desk + chair
- 2 rolls of old carpet

I’m so happy now that this junk is gone! We can finally stall our bikes properly! I owe a big thanks to my housemates T&M for cleaning up a lot of stuff :)

What was I thinking when I bought these orange soul-flare pants? Why am I keeping this old sweater for arts ‘n crafts while I already have 3 old sweaters for this purpose? When will I ever where these “baby Milo” shirts again? Sure, they’re adorable, but they just don’t fit me! Time to get rid of all this junk!

Furthermore, I don’t think I need:
- two fruit bowls (exit one of them)
- more tin storage cans than I have stuff to store
- one of these big round plates that you can put candles on, since I hardly ever burn candles
- porcelain paint… never gonna use that again :)

Today I got rid of two bags full of old clothes that have been sitting in our storage room forever. Furthermore, my house mates and I have arranged for a lot of junk to be picked up including my:

- halogen flame lamp that makes the fuses blow
- side table that I didn’t use in 3 years
- old planks that are still ok but I’ll never use
- room divider that no one wants

It’s a start!
