About three weeks ago, my drive to work changed, because we moved into our new house. My drive is over an hour now, but the first half (23 miles) of it is on a good two-lane state highway. When I get to the second half of the trip is on the I-459 spur between I-59 and work. The traffic on I-459 is not near as bad as it used to be on I-65. Overall, the mornings have become a lot less stressing.

I start a new drive to work today since this will be the first trip to work from our new home. I am not sure if I want to take the quick, yet maddening, route down I-65 through the exchange or if I want to take the slightly shorter, yet longer in time, route via some state highways and county roads.
I think I may try the scenic route via the state highways in hopes that I can still be feeling good by the time I get to work instead of feeling like I want to hurt someone. :)
I have gotten much better on this goal. I did mutter something under my breath today when someone pulled out in front of me on the interstate, but other than that, the past week has been great. When I am calm on the road, I feel better when I get to work. :)
Boy, it is a little depressing when you look in your rear view mirror and see those blue lights. I went through an intersection this morning as the light turned red. The officer saw this and came to get me. I pulled over and waited on him. When he got to the car, he saw my son. I told him that I was trying to get him to school. He said he was just going to write a warning and to be a little more careful. Whew!
Thanks to God, I am gaining control on this goal. The past three days of driving have been very good. I have had a couple of times when I felt my blood pressure rising, but I did maintain calm and I did not do anything stupid.
The past two days have not been good. It would be great to pick a new time to go into the office, but I cannot do that, because I provide transportation for my son to school since I go right by there on the way to work.
I started carpooling with someone else this morning. I tend to be a lot more calm in the car and refrain from doing things that I might otherwise do when I am by myself. This should be a good thing all around… financially and mentally. :)
Very bad day today. I think people were frustrated with not having power and then having to travel to work today.
There was an unusual number of crazies out on the roads today. There is a strip of road here in Alabama on I-65 North that I like to call the Alabama Autobahn. I was driving around 75 mph in my Beetle today, which is 15 mph over the speed limit. There were cars and trucks coming around me on all sides like we were racing at Indy.
I am happy to say that even when those three different drivers cut me off and that other person tailgated me for about a mile, I never lost it and all was well!
I was doing so well with this goal that I was thinking about closing it out as done, but then some out-of-state person in the Corvette that she thought was so hot had to do something stupid this morning.
At least I stayed calm and my blood pressure did not go through the roof.
