I just got the book Tattoo History: A Source Book by Steve Gilbert (ISBN 1-890451-06-1). It seems pretty comprehensive. Hopefully it will give us some good ideas.

Polynesian Wedding Tattoos 2 years ago

Estella and I want to get tattoos when we get married as permanent celebrations of our love for each other.

Right now, we are thinking of getting coordinating Polynesian tattoos. We would like something personalised for us that is also not offensive to any Polynesian culture.

We have found some limited information online, but we still have a lot of research to do.
