scrapbook more

my home is filled with all sorts of cat “stuff”,,,cat statues,,,cat pics,,,cat knickknacks,,,,cat spice jars(!),,,I counted and I actually have SEVENTY TWO cat items,,,so, I made a “count the cats” scrapbook page,,,fun stuff,,,I took photos of all and made an index print of most of them,,,my favorites I printed larger,,anyway, this is one of my favorites,,,it is a statue of the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet,,,she is known to guard the hearth and be a protector of women,,,my younger son gave her to me for a birthday present and she lives in front of my fireplace,,,

I’ve made six pages in the last three weeks as I am not working right now and I have the time. Currently I am working on a page about the SIX black swans currently living on Sunset Lake about three blocks from me. The photo is of a very handsome fellow who I call Mr. Darcy,,,:-)

I am currently working on some pages of my grandson in his first year. He is now 7 so I have quite a bit of catching up to do! At any rate, here is the little prince,,,:-)

I am back to temping now for awhile so scrapbooking is taking a back seat for awhile. However, in the month of March, my best friend, my younger son and my daughter-in-law all have birthdays. So I am in the process of making some “custom” birthday cards for all of them. That’s been a nice change and also good for a short term project.

I’ve been off work for a couple of weeks and even with the holidays intervening I have managed to complete THREE scrapbook pages. Hooray! Two were part of my “house project” pages and one was of my grandson when he was an infant. If my time were all my own, I would spend at least half the day doing scrapbooking,,,I love the colors, the fabrics,,,the papers,,,in fact, everything,,,,

I guess “more” is the operative word in this goal. Not so much. Right now I only have weekends available to work on my pages. I still continue looking at my favorite scrapbook websites and am building up some good ideas for when I have more time to sit down at my “art table” again.

Well, I did manage to finish one page on my son’s wedding album. I’ll give myself a cheer and say “hooray for me!” But time is ALWAYS a problem. Next I plan to continue on my “HOUSE PAGES” project. This past summer I thought I was going to sell my house so I decided to take pictures of all the rooms to keep my memories of it. I did not sell the house but the project goes on. I’m glad I did it because it really rekindled my love for my home.

I just started scrapbooking about 4 months ago and really love it. I’ve been averaging about 1 page per week but that’s because i’ve had the summer off from work. I expect to be returning to work soon and don’t know if i can keep up the pace. I think i’ll only be able to do it on the weekend which means i’ll be down to one page per month!!! i guess i’ll somehow have to carve out at least an hour a few evenings a week to accomplish this goal.
