These are the science fields and concepts I would like to work on during my career. I am always adding to and never culling it, so I will probably have to make sacrifices along the way :(.
- A practical way to store electrical energy so an ‘electron economy’ is possible. I would also like to work on the hydrogen economy project, but if we can develop an electron economy instead it just cuts out the middle-man so to speak.
- Advance our knowledge of, and find practical applications for, stem cells. This mainly involves medical applications and I’d like to see things such as transplants, transfusions, biomachines, etc obsolescent (not a grudge or anything lol just want to cut out the middleman and go to the root of the problem and do everything from the biological base). One idea (rather romantic/idealistic!) I had was to open an organ bank whereby at least one of each organ is held for each person and include it as part of health insurance.
- Establish a space program here in Australia. I know our government would never provide that kind of funding but it is worth a try. And if not I might follow the footsteps of the inspirational Elon Musk and establish a for-profit space enterprise and have like discounts and subsidies for research-based ventures while also establishing space tourism.
- Find a way to measure internal energy (delta U). This goal was just from my incredible annoyance one day in Thermo class having failed the exam… not too serious about this goal =P.
- Shoot down Intelligent Design. Not much to say here and even if I did I don’t want to offend anyone. It is pretty self-explanatory.
There are others but I can’t fit them all in in time! Must be off to work.
Even though I am in first year engineering and just turned 18, inside I am still the little kid jumping up and down excited about the great possibilities in life =).
