sew my own clothes

I seem to have been waylaid on this goal. I keep thinking about going to fabric stores and designing things in my head, but if I get the sewing machine out, I just get exhausted. What does that mean? It’s impossible to complete something if you feel no enthusiasm for it.

I’m sure they make lots of lovely things in China, I just wish our stores would sell something NOT made in China. Doing some early Christmas shopping really brought me down. Every single thing I looked at was made in China.
I used to sew alot, but kind of gave it up years ago. Now I have a job where I have to wear a kind of ‘corporate drag’ every day. It is okay, but the clothes are expensive and not locally made. So, I started looking through fabric stores again and have decided to make three or four ‘suits’ for myself. They won’t be your usual corpse dress, however, but something that ‘suits me’. I’m thinking more Japanese style jackets with boxy sleeves, and high waisted skirts with massive waistbands and big pleats. Hey, I’m even considering bringing back the bustle!! Keep my bum warm through the whole Canadian winter.
